real investment

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provides approximately $100 Billion for education nationwide. A portion of that funding coming to your school is intended for teacher quality enhancement and for resources in implementing the most promising, evidence-based school reforms.
Great Expectations® (GE), a whole school reform model, qualifies under the strict federal requirements for use of this funding because it has been validated by scientifically based research. However, beyond that, GE meets the spirit of the bill’s stated objectives because of its established record for enhancing teacher quality, raising student achievement, and shaping student character. Schools that implement GE get powerful results, and their students add value to our society.
Stimulus funding is available, and states and local educational agencies have developed plans for using the money. GE is uniquely equipped and ready to provide training and technical assistance precisely designed to fit the circumstances of your school. Consider these options for setting up exactly the training needed in your district when and where you want it:
- Send educators to GE Summer Institute at any of various locations. Check back for the Summer Institute 2010 Brochure.
- Bring the 4-day set of classes taught in Summer Institute to your own site if that is preferable to traveling to a scheduled session. This offering is available to any district desiring training for 50 or more teachers and can be arranged to fit your school calendar.
- Schedule specific-topic seminars on-site, tailored to match your school’s needs and objectives. Download Training Topics available for elementary, middle school, and secondary teachers as well as for administrators and support staff personnel.
- Arrange for a GE Mentor to make consultation visits to your school sites. Mentors are experienced educators who provide customized coaching and will help you attain your goals of increased teacher efficiency and improved academic achievement on national standards for all students.
Capitalize on the opportunity to invest wisely; use your ARRA funds to strengthen education. GE shares your commitment and will help you create long-lasting positive results for students and our nation.
